Update: January 29, 2020
Greetings Hartland United Families,
We hope this finds you doing well.
As a follow-up to last month’s communication, in short, with the recent holidays, etc., we do not have any new information to share at this time. However, we are working to schedule some “next steps” meetings with the builder and related parties. Our next update will be before the end of February and/or as additional information becomes available.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
Warm Regards,
Dan Grattan

Update: December 11, 2019
Greetings Hartland United Families,
For many years, Hartland United FC (HUFC) has been working to identify a way to establish an indoor facility within the community. We have researched many options in Hartland and beyond, including existing facilities, build to lease options, vacant land for a possible build, and working with Hartland Township on options including space at Heritage Park.
Last winter, we identified an opportunity to secure a ten-year lease agreement with the new owners of a property located at Old US 23 and Clyde Road, right in our own backyard. This parcel zoned for light industrial was originally earmarked for an indoor softball/baseball facility for Turnin 2. Due to unforeseen circumstances the land returned to the market and was acquired by LBL of Hartland LLC.
In early 2019, HUFC began open discussions with LBL regarding our desire to establish a long-term partnership for an indoor facility and what that would look like. By March, we had preliminary designs on a 30,000 sq. ft. facility. On May 13, 2019, after many meetings and discussions, we were able to finalize plans on a 34,500 sq. ft. footprint supporting a full-sized 9v9 field. With full board approval we executed a ten-year lease with LBL.
During the summer months, LBL continued work on the site engineering and more. In September 2019, HUFC was informed by LBL that costs were coming in too high which would impact our existing agreement. Over the past few months, LBL, committed to honoring the original agreement, worked to identify a new general contractor, engaged additional engineers and vendors in an effort to bring costs back into line. This continues today and LBL has made progress. In speaking with LBL’s contact, they will be presenting the updated plan to the Hartland Township Board soon.
HUFC is focusing on achieving this milestone and keeping our membership timely informed. In an effort to improve transparency going forward, we will keep each of you apprised of our progress via monthly updates.
We’re grateful for your continued support.
May your holidays be safe and memorable.
Warm Regards,
Dan Grattan
